During my service as a member of Congress, I have had good experiences with student interns. They are involved in many legislative and administrative tasks, and consequently are important to the smooth functioning of my office. Interns who have been with us have consistently commented on the invaluable experience they have gained in this office.
I believe that my office affords interns an opportunity to study the legislative process in a way which is at once challenging and enjoyable. I have several reasons for this belief, including my years of experience as a legislator and my active involvement in the work of the House of Representatives, the dedication and congeniality of my staff, and the trust which we place in the ability and initiative of our interns.
